SOUTH PADRE ISLAND (Island Breeze) – The South Texas resort island community, still recovering from damage sustained last year during Hurricane Dolly, is getting a new hotel.
The 156-room Hilton Garden Inn Beach Resort is the first major full-service hotel and conference center to be built on the island in the last 30 years. It is being built across from the South Padre Island Convention Centre.
Developed by Barry Patel, the hotel is slated to open in February or March. It will have more than 8,000 sf of meeting room space.
